At its heart, Mission Mangal is a love letter to India’s space scientists. While the film takes dramatic liberties (the real mission involved hundreds of scientists, not just six), it captures the spirit of frugal innovation. The famous scene where the scientists use a pressure cooker to test heat resistance is fictional, but it perfectly illustrates the "jugaad" (innovative hack) mentality that helped ISRO become the most cost-effective space agency in the world.
