When a new server launches (a "beta"), veteran players flood in. They race to the top, establish dominance in the main hunting zones (like the infamous Lamekh or Ruper dungeons), and hoard the "ToL" (Tome of Life) items needed for respawning. If the server admins fail to ban hackers or introduce a game-breaking item into the cash shop, the top guilds leave. They delete their client and wait for the next server launch.

This cycle has created a nomadic player base. The players aren't looking for a forever home; they are looking for a darkeden private server
