In the context of Eros, these senses are about intimacy and ingestion. The scent of a lover’s skin or the taste of shared wine creates a biochemical bond that defies logic. To believe in the moment through taste and smell is to acknowledge that the present is a substance to be consumed. It is a radical acceptance of the physical, a declaration that the here and now is sufficient, nourishing, and intoxicating.
