Arav was twenty-eight, the same age as the protagonist in the film. He was an architect who drafted blueprints for buildings that would never be built, working in a firm where his voice was as insignificant as the hum of the air conditioning. He lived in a silence so loud it rang in his ears. He had seen the movie years ago, late at night on television, but he felt a sudden, desperate need to possess it. To have the file sit on his hard drive, tangible and permanent.
