"Zodiac" is an American crime thriller film directed by David Fincher, based on the 2002 non-fiction book of the same name by Robert Graysmith. The movie stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo, and Robert Downey Jr. It tells the story of the investigation into the Zodiac Killer identity in the San Francisco Bay Area during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Despite its critical acclaim and detailed depiction of one of America's most infamous unsolved serial killer cases, the film received a mixed response at the box office.
David Fincher is known for his clinical attention to detail, and "Zodiac" is the pinnacle of his technical prowess. Shot primarily on the Thomson Viper FilmStream Camera, it was one of the first major motion pictures to be captured digitally. The BluRay transfer preserves this unique aesthetic:
