The term Dafil Afat (دافع الآفات) translates to “Repeller of Calamities.” It is but a compiled wazifah (litany of prayers) consisting of specific Quranic verses (primarily Ayat-ul-Kursi , Al-Falaq , An-Nas , and portions of Surah Al-An’am ) combined with selected duas from the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). It is widely used in South Asian and Sufi traditions for seeking Allah’s protection from sudden misfortunes, black magic, evil eye, and illness.
