Clothing in India is a powerful symbol of regional identity and artistic heritage.
But the moment she steps into a family WhatsApp group, the language shifts to Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, or Marathi. The vocabulary of "synergy" is replaced by the vocabulary of rishtey (relationships). Here, her value is still often measured by her marital status or her culinary skills.
