The story follows Badrinath "Badri" Bansal (Varun Dhawan), a naive but persistent young man from a wealthy, traditional family in Jhansi. Badri falls for Vaidehi Trivedi (Alia Bhatt), a fierce and ambitious woman from Kota who is more interested in becoming an independent air hostess than a traditional bride.
