The story follows Captain Crow (Jared Harris) and his adopted son, Jacob (Karl Urban), who are legendary sea monster hunters. When a young stowaway named Maisie (Zaris-Angel Hator) joins the crew, their latest mission goes awry, leading them to discover that the monsters they hunt might not be the enemies they’ve been taught to believe.
