It started organically. Street food vendors in tourist-heavy areas noticed that certain ladyboy performers—especially those working in cabaret shows or go-go bars—would order “impossible” portions after late-night shifts. “They would come in groups of three or four, laugh loudly, and dare each other to finish a mountain of fried rice or a tower of grilled pork skewers,” recalls Somchai, a noodle vendor in Silom. “Once, one of them ate 60 chicken feet in under 15 minutes.
