Palo Mayombe- El Jardin De Sangre Y Huesos
At the heart of Palo Mayombe is the (or Prenda), a consecrated iron cauldron that serves as the material embodiment of a spirit and a microcosm of the universe.
“El Jardin de Sangre y Huesos” is not a literal botanical garden. It is a spiritual metaphor for the prenda or nganga —the sacred iron cauldron that serves as the altar and engine of Palo Mayombe. In this garden, blood is the water that nourishes the seeds (the bones), and the resulting plant is fuerza (raw, unrefined spiritual power). Palo Mayombe- El Jardin de Sangre y Huesos
