User stories

As a user, I select a sentence and click “Ginger it” to get one or more clearer alternatives. As a user, I choose a target tone (neutral, formal, friendly, concise, elaborate) before rephrasing. Core behaviors

Input: a single sentence or text selection. Output: 1–3 rewrite suggestions preserving original meaning and key facts. Each suggestion includes: tone label, readability grade (e.g., Flesch–Kincaid), and a one-sentence rationale (e.g., “reduces passive voice; shortens clauses”). Preserve named entities, dates, numbers, and negations unless user opts to relax preservation. Highlight differences between original and suggestion (inline diff with additions/removals).

Modes & options

Tone presets: Neutral (default), Formal, Friendly, Concise, Elaborate, Technical. Preservation toggles (on/off): Named entities & numbers, Legal/technical terms, Contractions. Verbosity: Single suggestion (fast) or 3 suggestions (varied). Auto-apply top suggestion on keyboard shortcut (configurable). Accessibility: screen-reader friendly output and keyboard navigation through suggestions.
